SECP Registers 2,617 New Companies in September 2024

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 2,617 new companies in September 2024, a 5.7% increase compared to the same period last year.

The total number of registered companies now stands at 231,111. Private limited companies accounted for 55% of new registrations, followed by single member companies at 41%.

The information technology sector led the way with 410 new company registrations, followed by trading with 377. Other sectors with significant registrations include services, real estate, tourism, and ecommerce.

Foreign investment was reported in 61 new companies, with major contributions from China, Turkey, and Afghanistan.

The SECP’s efforts to facilitate business registration and attract foreign investment are contributing to the growth of the corporate sector in Pakistan.
